I normally buy tables at concerts I attend. Or should I say the company buys it. So 10 of us would attend. There was a time we bought 3 tables because a lot of people wanted to attend that concert. I think it was Olamide’s concert.

One day, there was a concert and as usual I bought a table. I didn’t ask for who wanted to go, I just went ahead and bought it. Surprise surprise... I found out only 4 of us were interested in the concert. I had to start calling friends asking if they were interested.

Eventually, 8 of us went and I felt I wasted money.

Then I got thinking... let’s say just two of us would love to attend a concert and we want to sit at the tables... what do we do?

These concert organizers did not make provision for people like that. You must buy a table.

What if we are just 3? What if it’s just me? Does that mean I have to buy regular or the so called upgraded regular they call VIP?

No. I want to sit at the table but I don’t want to buy a whole table because it doesn’t make sense. There are many people like that.

Since there are many people like that, you can come in and bridge that gap.

Start a concert seat reservation business. If a table is going for N1m, buy the table and resell for N110k each. I won’t mind paying N110k to sit at a N1m table. I don’t care if I don’t know the others.

There is another way to start it without spending. Set up the business. A business name. Create social media pages and promote. Rather than buy the table first, get commitment, and even payment from the pages before you buy the table. You will make 100k per table.

Depending on your followership on social media, you can sell up to 5 tables per event. Think about the number of concerts happening in Lagos. Soon, even the concert organizers will be coming to you when they see how you buy up their tables.

You will have one or two staff at the entrance of the hall. When your customers come, you usher them to the table(s) you bought. You can even go ahead by providing extra drinks apart from the ones the organizers provide.

You can go as far as you like. You can even arrange parking space for them. Parking can be a problem at these events. Of course you would be communicating with them once they buy. You can even offer chauffeur service. It’s up to you how far you want to go.

Some tables are priced at 2m. You can price that one at N250k per seat. There was a Davido concert with N5m table. That can easily be N600k per seat. You can have varieties and you know what?

You can start with Falz’ concert this weekend. I can send you up to 3 customers.
