Brexit red-pilled a lot more.
Trump’s election red-pilled a lot more.
Kavanaugh red-pilled a lot more.
Russiagate red-pilled a lot more.
And now, #VoxAdpocalypse is gonna red-pill a lot more.
Powerful institutions are demonstrating how readily they’ll embrace the purge of wrongthink, if only to retain power.
This is a good thing.
Centralizing hundreds of millions of people under a single government, a single media oligopoly, a single culture?
In 2019?
Not in the age of the internet. Not in the age of blockchain.
Monolithic institutions are going the way of the dodo, and all the chaos we’re seeing is the death throes of those currently in power.
The answer isn’t “force these people to coexist with us!”
It’s “disempower them so their attempts as censorship are irrelevant.”
And that happens with technological innovation.
Worse, you’re ceding territory to people who fundamentally don’t believe in discourse.
They want to destroy you, not debate you.
The culture war IS A LITERAL WAR.
Peacetime conservatives who *don’t actually get that* are just useful idiots & foils for totalitarianism... no matter how many civil rights cases they win.
It’s that they’re just pyrrhic victories when confronting an enemy that operates from the fundamental premise that you’re going to play by the rules & operate within the existing system.
They want to save the very system that is now being used to destroy them.
Either you use the system to win the war (wartime conservatism)
Or you abandon the system altogether in favor of replacing its functions with decentralized technology (anarchism)
