Hearing result in Peterborough is very close....Labour and BXP anxious. It’s going to be fascinating.
Relatively few Tories actually bothered to turn up to campaign today by all accounts but those who did aren’t happy. One texts:

One Labour activist tells me “there’s been an incredible ground game for us- more than 500 activists on the door. Worry is Lib Dems have snatched too many of our votes. Think the Brexit Party might have just got it.” #PeterboroughByElection
That was v much impression from being there this week, not so much BXP would storm it, Peterborough isn’t ideal terrain for them but more that Lab would seem too much to Lib Dems and would cost them the seat. We’ll see.

Instinctively feel that has to be a v good sign for Labour...

I didn’t meet the UKIP candidate when I went to Peterborough on Tuesday but now I’m sorely regretting I didn’t.
When asked “what’s the naughtiest thing you’ve ever done” he’s just said “nothing.”
Frankly, I’m finding that hard to believe.

Just bear in mind, whatever happens tonight, something extraordinary: no one is even talking about the Tories being even contention, no one expecting them to even come second. They’ve been completely displaced.
They lost in 2017 by 600 votes.
