A majority of white liberals once supported levying fines on US businesses that hire illegals. That's no longer the case. 
In his book 'We Wanted Workers', economist George Borjas suggested that the money from such fines or taxes can be used to offset the harm done to low-skill natives.
A bit more modest but significant declines also observed in the percent favoring increasing the # of border patrols on the Southern border ('Let them in!!')
Somewhat mirrors an earlier graph I tweeted (though that one mentioned the deployment of troops)
