If you think this is a matter of just having new equipment installed where your boiler was, you are mistaken.

This will mean the 'retrofitting' of almost every home in the country. You will have to move out for weeks, maybe months. A million people displaced, every year.
The cost of retrofitting the average home is estimated -- by green economists -- to be equivalent to building the home from scratch. I.e. the bricks and motor cost of a home.
Plus, you will have to pay for accommodation while you move out of your own home so that it can be brought up to 'legal' standards.

Plus, you will have to pay the 'social' costs -- for those who cannot afford to upgrade the properties they live in.
This will cost you tens, closer to hundreds of £thousands. over the next 30 years.

It will make renting even more expensive, as existing rental accommodation takes the million families per year that have to move out while their homes are completely gutted & refit.
You will then be saddled with HUGE debt for the work. Your choices for work will be limited by the fact that the cost of private transport is going to become prohibitively expensive.
The cost of electronic cars is NOT going to fall where demand for them is created by the abolition of the petrol/diesel car. The price of the commodities used in EVs will rise as production capacity is overwhelmed.
The costs of net zero will be felt further around the economy, also, as businesses struggle to retrofit their properties, and as consumers' disposable income diminishes to service debt. Prices will rise, jobs will be lost. Public transport will be expensive & crowded.
This, and the difficulty in selling and buying new homes, will immobilise people, limiting their ability to move to find work.
Q. Am I overstating the resource limits on the net zero policy?

No.

We know that the CCC know this. Therefore we know that the intention of the CCC, and of the Net Zero target is to abolish private transport for the majority of people.
They know, also, there there is little-to-zero possibility of significant increases in generating capacity to cope with increased electricity demand.

Electricity will be subject to time-of-day pricing and will rise, and rise, and rise, and rise. This is called RATIONING.
