Great thread on applying the scientific method to debugging. I've never thought of it as such, but this is also the method that I use. 1/
99% of my debugging time is actually just thinking. I come up with a theory of how a problem can happen, and then try to prove/disprove it by looking at code, logs, etc. I very rarely use a debugger these days other than to look at the occasional core dump (more clues). 2/
Also, LOL the people in my mentions saying that if you write better code you don't need to debug. Have you ever worked on software that people actually use?🤣 end/
