On Thursday, Tucker Carlson described this Washington Examiner story as showing "collusion" between the FBI and New York Times. Trump tweeted about that segment Friday morning. No update on Tucker's show Friday after the Examiner published this correction:
"REVEALED: Anti-Trump Media Teamed Up With The FBI"
Carlson on Thursday: "The Schmidt kid just seems like a lackey for the FBI, so why does he get to call himself a reporter?"
"The Real Collusion"
Is Tucker Carlson, who has spent the last two and a half decades at The Weekly Standard, New York, CNN, PBS, MSNBC, and Fox News and founded The Daily Caller, just ignorant of how journalism works? Or was he being deliberately deceptive to stir up his audience?
You kind of have to assume the latter, given that this segment happened after Carlson had been directly advising the president on how he should respond to Iran -- a far better example of "collusion" than what was mustered against Schmidt.
Fox primetime media criticism is falsely attributing to real journalists the ethical behavior practiced by the hosts:
Reminder: Three nights ago Tucker Carlson accused NY TImes reporter Michael Schmidt of "collusion" and called him a "snitch" and a "lackey" for much, much less than this. washingtonpost.com/graphics/2019/…
