1) Here is something for @TheDemocrats and @GOP to consider:

Imagine if it had been a scientist with no political axe to grind who had published and popularized the facts in "An Inconvenient Truth." Imagine they had been the author, rather than a prominent Democrat, ...

2) ... and that the book had been free of partisan blame for the problem, simply identifying it as a collective problem to solve using all means, including governmental, at our disposal.

3) Where do you think we would stand now in terms of our ability, over the past decade or so, to get decisive national action on reversing the effects of man-made climate change?

4) Would it not being so strongly identified as an issue pushed by Democrats have had an effect? What do you think that effect would have been? Sometimes it's advantageous by those who enjoy top rankings to fight and squabble to keep themselves in the spotlight.

5) And sometimes they do this for their own political advantage when it puts other matters - perhaps even global societal matters - off to the side. We have critical matters that have been put off to the side too long, perhaps even by squabbling over them.

6) Progressives who are independents and third-party voters such as are in the @GreenPartyUS also look at alternate voting/electoral methods that try to loosen the grip of the Top Two parties. It is for societal and environmental benefit, not just so they can win.

7) I ask @TheDemocrats and the @GOP alike, as we go forward in recovering from a @realDonaldTrump era, to look soberly at how you have grasped power, used manipulative methods to manufacture consent and hold onto that power, and consider society as a whole rather than yourselves.

8) I know, that's not a success formula, or "the American Way," but I think of all whom we've exploited, enslaved, exterminated over centuries, and I am sick of that formula and that way.

9) We don't live in that world where someone politically objective wrote "An Inconvenient Truth," obviously, but I think the answer can inform how we act and move forward in the world we do have. Some of the power to do so is in the hands of @TheDemocrats and the @GOP.
