James Cleverly celebrates the roll-over of a couple of small trade agreements (we only keep what we have - nothing new) hours after the EU reached its biggest ever deal with Mercosur and a market of 800 million people. The irony is palpable, the stink of desperation cloying.🤦♂️
It's like someone demanding applause for having successfully laced up their trainers when the EU is busy running an ultramarathon.
And if you think that's bad? Our rolled over deals are actually on worse terms than we currently have as EU members.
The UK might as well charge head down at the nearest wall and be done with it.
