I do think outside the politics (is it good or bad for Dems to do this) the issues you point out are worth people considering. I obviously disagree. But importantly, we both concur it is really bad for people to think that 1325 and family separation are causal. They are not. 2/
Critics of my take continue to push this and it’s just not true. Idea we have to repeal as a way to stop family separation is a way of legally excusing the trump admins policy, I fear. 1325 predated family separation and Trump not using it to separate. 3/3

Family Deportations : Since June I’ve been reposting this thread. It appears from @nytimes that these family deportations will now occur Sunday. The substance of concerns and focus (mainly for reporters) remains the same below but one additional point 1/
There is, from a pure operational perspective, no smart reason for the WH or DHS to be doing these deportations this way. Why do they have to be simultaneous? As I describe, all of these families are under deportation orders. Any day, ICE could legitimately deport them. 2/
So why at same time? Why risk it becoming public (it has each time)? Why risk social unrest for your agents? Why maximize numbers and enforcement footprint? These families arent part of conspiracy where they have to be taken down at same time. 3/

THREAD: In interviews, WH and DHS conflate the question of WHETHER a child should ever be detained with the question of HOW a child should be detained.
Even conceding that family separation or child detention is ok, there is no excuse for the HOW they are doing this. 1/
Again I don’t want to sound too logistical about this, but the deprivations of space, clothing, showers, hygiene are mere supply chain problems. And we are actually pretty good at supply chain solutions. We know how to move people, commodities, goods. 2/
Set up an incident command structure. (ICS). Create emergency support function (ESF) leads to address shelter, care, water, specialized needs. Establish a unified command (UF) to ensure interagency coordination. This isn’t rocket science. We do this. 3/

Taking money in this movement can hurt a person's credibility because people will start to view them as a business. Reaching out can then be viewed as marketing. Shares, likes, hits and views are then looked at as gains.

A person making money off the movement does not turn them into a bad person. Disinformation does. If they are spreading the truth, thats all that matters. There are a lot of Patriots that want to support the work of Patriots they look up too
