globalhop.net, a company that "specializes in automated public web data extraction". App developers can embed their software/SDK into their Android+iOS apps to "monetize" their "app users’ idle resources".

Seems legit.
So, they're scraping the web by stealing app users' mobile data traffic and identities (IP, device history/fingerprints etc). And who knows what kind of data they retrieve. But hey:

"When using our SDK, you have to add a short disclaimer to your Terms of Service"
I wonder if this is really about web scraping? Bad enough, but what about e.g. ad clicks? 🤔

Btw. Here's another interesting mobile SDK that also offers to pay developers for their "users’ idle device resources":

This is weird.

Aristotle, a major political data company in the US who provided a 'nationwide enriched credit file' to Cambridge Analytica also runs a ID verification firm that utilizes 'identity data' on '3.4 billion citizens across the world', and a UK credit reference agency.
Has this ever been discussed or reported on?

According to NationBuilder, Aristotle provides e.g. data on 'over 190 million U.S. voters from 3,100 counties and political data from 157 nations':

First time I helped to install Win10:

- How many install it without a MS account? 5%? Less?

- Lots of #darkpattern 'choices' regarding personal data

- 'Tailored experiences with diagnostic data'

Digital profiling for personalization+ads based on 'diagnostic data' …seriously?
'If you have selected Full, personalization is also based on information about the websites you browse, how you use apps and features' #preselected

So, Win10 tricks users into massive digital profiling based on everything they do? This is not what an operating system should do.
And it gets even better. Ultimately, Microsoft asks users to 'let apps use' their 'advertising ID', which is a unique identifier for each person using a Win10 device.

This identifier is much better suited to link profile data across many different companies than a name.

The @KhoslaLabs and @UIDAI developers don't know how to generate a #android app certificate correctly 🤦‍♂️

They keep the default owner and issuer: Google. This is funny, technically, Google is the owner and issuer of #Aadhaar 😂😬🤦‍♂️
As stated by the official documentation, developer.android.com/studio/publish…
"A public-key certificate, also known as a digital certificate or an identity certificate, contains the public key of a public/private key pair, as well as some other metadata identifying the owner of the key"
Moreover, "Every app must use the same certificate throughout its lifespan"
So, @KhoslaLabs and @UIDAI cannot change it. They need to reupload another app with a different package name if they really want to change it.
