I ordered something from the US for the equivalent of about £25 a month ago. Today, I found I have to pay Royal Mail £13.70 in taxes and fees to get it (yes, they charge a hefty fee for collecting customs duties).

Life after Brexit will be like this for stuff from the EU too!
And of course what goes for us goes for everyone else too. Buyers in the EU will face taxes and fees on everything bought from the UK. How do you think that will affect businesses here that currently sell relatively low value goods into the EU? (At low value the fees hurt more.)
In the case of my original purchase, it's a sunk cost dilemma. Was it good value at £25 delivered? I think so. At £38.70? No, honestly not. But since I've already paid - and hence "lost" £25... I'll be wandering along to the Post Office later. Grr.
Coda: I gave the Royal Mail their blood money...
