📣 This is a fantastic thread. It may sound strange to hear me say that since I'm a policy wonk who sweats the details about the differences between the various Dem candidates' proposals...but that doesn't make this thread any less important.
As I noted earlier, if I was voting PURELY based on healthcare policy, I'd probably support Biden or Beto. On most other policies, I'm more in line with Warren or possibly Harris. The #1 issue, however, has to be BEATING TRUMP, period...and that's not as easy a Q to answer.
Plus, as I've also noted before, "who has the best policy" doesn't mean as much as you may think, since the POTUS can only *advocate* for their preference; the actual bill they'll be asked to sign will be passed by *Congress*: acasignups.net/19/07/16/heres…
Without a Dem trifecta, we're not gonna get ANYTHING through on healthcare...and even *with* one *and* killing the filibuster, the Senate is NOT gonna pass Bernie's M4A bill, period, so whoever the POTUS is will likely agree to sign a different bill. Which...is fine.
The best-case scenario would be something like 52 Dem votes in the Senate. Bernie's M4All bill currently has 14 cosponsors. Perhaps, with a LOT of wrestling, he, Warren or Harris *might* double or perhaps even triple that...but getting beyond ~40 or so? I don't think so.
