X : Thoughts on Boris as PM?
Me : Undecided. A lot depends upon how much of a one nation tory he is i.e. a more positive outlook on immigration, tackling inequality and a move towards EEA (docked to EFTA) would be welcome. Time will tell. I wouldn't dismiss him out of hand.

X : Do you really think Farage could end up as Foreign Secretary?
Me : The numbers in Parliament are not good for Boris. He will need a GE. He'll have to make a pact with the Brexit party and Farage will want something. I expect the cost will be the Foreign Secretary role ...

... of course, I don't find that appealing. However both Boris / Farage have prepared groundwork for a move towards EEA (docked to EFTA) i.e. Common Market 2.0 / Plus / Norway Plus or whatever it's called today.

What you need to understand is it's not just the person (i.e. Farage) but the advisors / surrounding entourage that come with them that can raise concern / cause problems.

X : Are there better options?
Me : Usually. The more radical but also unlikely option is some form of Gov of national unity. One Nation Tory and Old Labour are not that ideologically far apart and it would avoid the need for GE leaving certain elements floundering.

However, we shall see what happens. Many unknowns at the moment. The state of "interesting" politics will continue for some time yet.

X : That's quite a wide spread.
Me : Such is interesting politics. So much depends upon individual actor's actions. I wouldn't start ruling out anything yet.

X : Of all the options, which do you think is most preferable?
Me : A Labour Government with Corbyn as PM.
