Take a basic map of a cup of tea, with anchors (the business selling cups of tea and the public consuming it), a chain of needs that is mapped over evolution ...
... the problem with the map is that in a growing market of environmental responsibility - why is power so low in the chain / so invisible?

Well ...
... we can add a new need for environmental responsibility. But surely power would still be more visible than it is.

In fact, it is ...
... down one part of the chain we have 4 steps ... and so power is quite invisible in the process of creating a cup of tea (though of course, it's essential to the chain).
... down another part of the chain, it's more visible having only two steps.

But ...
... how does being more visible down one line of the chain and being less visible down another line up with the axis which simply goes from invisible to visible?

Well ...
... the key is to realise that the y-axis is purely scaffolding or training wheels for those getting started. It's not some absolute scale. It can be happily removed. Thee position is part of the chain itself and the relationship between components ...
... obviously when we look at a single node then some components maybe more visible than others ... whether kettle or water to hot water ...
... or environmental responsibility or the cup of tea to the user.
X : Why is the kettle so far too the left?
Me : Good question. It's one I would ask. It's probably some technical debt to a past way of working but it's definitely worthy of challenge.
