Sir, you obviously have not heard of Friesian(dutch)+bunaji (fulani) cow crossbreeding in Nigeria. Have you heard of Aspiration/Ovum Pick Up (OPU) or IVF in cattle being done by some institutions like UOA Makurdi, Faculty of Agric., FUG Yobe State or the Kaduna State ADP?
We are known for the Bunaji cattle breed but while we are here condemning this move by the FGN, some very smart guys are already closing deals on bank instruments to use in getting experts to help with cattle IVF, setting up full dairies complete with fogging system, cow mat,
ventilation fan, multiple bucket fix milking machines & also expertise on how to cross & grow hybrid grasses like napier grass. What happened to some people when the restriction of forex on rice was implemented is about to happen again with dairy/cattle. Many will wail while
some are about to become over night millionaires.

Some pretty remarkable healthcare initiatives have taken off in #Nigeria in last few years. (If you’re interested in discussing what has NOT been done maybe don’t bother, this particular thread is about what’s BEEN done).

As always implementation & Monitoring/Oversight are key.
At the very top of the list I’d put the BASIC HEALTHCARE PROVISION FUND. Stipulated by the National Health Act of 2014, but not implemented until 2018 budget. 1% of Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF), to go into a special Fund for Primary Health Care. In 2018 that 1% came to ~N55bn.
When it comes to Primary Health Care - the FG has only supporting/supervisory roles. The real actors are LGAs and their ‘parents’, the States. So the BHCPF money isn’t being spent by/inAbuja, it’s going to PHC facilities nationwide — as Opex budgets & Reimbursements.

Zamfara in the last 7 days recorded less bloodshed compared to the previous week, but the rate of abductions of persons remains the same. There's however, something to worry about: an emerging evidence of the presence of Ansaru in #Zamfara,
operating across the states in North West #Nigeria right into the border with Niger Republic. #Ansaru is a sect, a breakaway faction of #BokoHaram in 2012. The were responsible for the prison break in Abuja in 2012.
So far, several armed bandits and cattle rustlers are being proselytized into the fold of the Jihadis while erring armed bandits are systematically being taken out by the #Ansaru elements. The Northwest may likely be the new jihadi battle ground in #Nigeria like the Northeast.
