I was reading the comments under @benmurraybruce post re electric cars and became really concerned + sad. Why are our children so negative? Electric cars to my mind is basic tech. Its a battery. If you can run an inverter in theory you can run an electric car. It's not a big deal
It dawned on my that most folks may never have come across a hybrid of full electric car before so it seems like sci-fi or something from 2050. Cue the insults. In the near future it will be default. In like 15-20 years. That's not a long time.
I just finished reading Space Barons. Where private co's are opening up a new frontier in space. It blew my mind. I was telling Mrs Njoku I wanted to experience space travel via Blue Origin or Virgin Galactic. She just asked that the kids be older and I go with version 4.0 
Mrs Njoku said wait until they perfected the tech. Don't be a pioneer (I'm a proud owner of Google glasses😷). Be a settler. She wasn't negative. She asked how much (today $250k), they plan to bring it to $50-100k (which is cheap for luxury travel large i.e PJ >$15k/hr of flight)
We are literally being left behind. And we aren't even scared why? To me I see the comments and attitude as an explanation why internet services are not growing in Nigeria like they should and are in similar markets. Our product adoption is stunted by lack of curiosity + literacy
It's not even about money. Some of the most technologically ignorant people I know in Nigeria are rich. I once met a bank MD whose email had been hacked. I asked why he didn't use 2-factor-authentication? (Which is fairly standard) He didn't then. He does now.
