I'm ready for when conversations about youth and work will involve actual youth (not youthful-looking type people) but YOUTH doing the work together with those people who don't actually hate young people. I'm so tired of sensationalist speakers who speak from privilege.
When someone actually says a young person got seed capital of 600k to buy his first car to join uber I mean!? How many Kenyan parents can afford this? How realistic is the success story being painted when uber drivers be striking all the damn time?
Who is talking about expenses incurred, the fact that many young people who get capital from parents have the luxury to stay home and not worry about breaking even while their business establishes ground. This is not the reality for many young people we cant be blind surely!!!!
It's tiring when real-life conversations are treated as just that, CONVERSATIONS. Then there's the idea of volunteering in Kenya where a packet of 2kg flour is 130, transport is at least 300, water, sugar, oil as in everything is damn expensive but labour is FREE excuse me???
I hate it all.
