The odds of a court letting this stand seem close to zero. The odds that California will be ordered to reprint all its election ballots at the last minute, at great expense to its voters, seem ... nonzero.
It's basically a Bill of Attainder, and what's more, odds are good that some CA state legislators are already on the record saying as much. Betting this ain't going to fly for the same reason that Trump's jerry-rigged almost-Muslim ban didn't fly.
The best-case scenario for California is probably that the Supreme Court rules against them early enough to avoid major hassle & expense.
And for what? Because otherwise, Trump might have carried California?
