@sleepingdingo @raykellyfitness previously, Regardless of adult age, normal range BMI was defined <25, &25-<30 as overweight (ie. lower survival with overweight)| now UN realises that healthy range BMI of older people needs refining to 24-30; because survival better associated with slightly higher BMI range.
@sleepingdingo @raykellyfitness But the take home message for all people, and older people, is preserve muscle, with resistance exercise and good nutrition, which has survival benefits; and for clinicians, to measure muscle mass (muscle is v important at rest and w exercise- antidiabetic and anti inflammatory

@sleepingdingo @raykellyfitness Our #eGFRstudy research, we showed a specific bioimpedance equation was accurate against DEXA FFM in Indigenous Australians- and this equation is different to populations where WHO develops its reference BMI measures
