Greenland is melting. Today is expected to be the single biggest melt in recorded history, as 12 billion tons of water dump into the ocean - causing irreparable rise in sea levels.

The next President has to lead on climate as no president has before.
Everyone please read this piece by @EricHolthaus in @RollingStone. There is so much to care about, but for the sake of the future of our grandchildren, humanity itself and millions of species on this planet, every voter has to be a climate voter in 2020.

A ton is 1,000 kg. A gigatonne is 1,000,000,000,000. 197 of those. I can’t fathom how much water that is, but the fact that 197,000,000,000,000 kilograms of water melted off of Greenland’s ice sheet in July gave me goosebumps.
