Greenland is melting. Today is expected to be the single biggest melt in recorded history, as 12 billion tons of water dump into the ocean - causing irreparable rise in sea levels.

The next President has to lead on climate as no president has before.
Everyone please read this piece by @EricHolthaus in @RollingStone. There is so much to care about, but for the sake of the future of our grandchildren, humanity itself and millions of species on this planet, every voter has to be a climate voter in 2020.

A ton is 1,000 kg. A gigatonne is 1,000,000,000,000. 197 of those. I can’t fathom how much water that is, but the fact that 197,000,000,000,000 kilograms of water melted off of Greenland’s ice sheet in July gave me goosebumps.

Overtime protections have been withering since the ‘70s, as companies have squeezed salaried workers for ever-more uncompensated hours.

Today, Washington State - backed by @JayInslee - said, “No More” - introducing new rules to restore overtime pay to thousands. 👏🏽👏🏽 #RestoreOT
This is a big damn deal. Americans have become accustomed to the idea that we work 50 or 60-hour work weeks at a set salary level. This isn’t how it used to be.

In 1975, 63% of salaried workers qualified for overtime pay when they worked beyond 40 hours.
Washington State is leading the way on the recovery of a 40-hour work-week, and adequate compensation for overtime. As always, blue states can act as laboratories for how to enact truly progressive policies & show the nation how it’s done.

It’s time to dispel the myth that blue wave activism was a down payment on impeachment.

I get it. This is very frustrating and slow. It seems so obvious. And we expect people to lead on principle, not on politics.

Set aside your frustrations with Dem leadership for a moment and think back to the blue wave districts that flipped red to blue. /2
I interviewed and published a sizable chunk of Dems who flipped seats in 2018. I asked them explicitly about impeachment. They were across-the-board non-committal. That’s not what they ran on. They ran on healthcare. They ran on voting rights. They ran on the environment. /3

He works in Copenhagen creating automated ice measurement stations that measure movements of mass, snowfall/rainfall, and energy flows from sunlight/temperature.

They check weather forecasts and climate models using this data. #QConLondon

2. As I reported yesterday, a major scientific assessment has confirmed that the continent is now losing 219 billion tons of ice per year from 2012-2017, and that is three times the ice loss for the period 2002-2007, or 10 years ago.
3. The study itself is here and the data on how the rate of ice loss has increased, over 5 year periods, is in table 1.

we are slowly getting the ones that twitter suspended, but what about the deleted ones?
i have partial list of suspect accounts.
i know of 400+ accounts twitter did not suspended.
checking the retweets and mentions those accounts made gives me a nice list of suspect accounts.
has anyone checked the nbc data?
