If anyone is surprised at the 10% tariffs announced today on China, you weren't paying attention. China has been referring to the trade war as their long march. They will not make a deal. They will wait it out. If it causes their economy to go into a depression they don't care.

China in other words is retreating. They will lose their economy instead of suing for peace. They will regroup; try to out wait Trump. If Trump wins re-election, maybe a deal could be made but I doubt it. They will go a different direction seek other economies to trade with.
and in 2 or 6 or 10 years come back to try again to win the global economic war. So expect the tariffs to go to at least 25% because Trump isn't caving either.

I was listening to Rush today &he made a comment that highlighted how he, like many political pros, still are unable to grasp how technology has changed politcs. He stated basically that no one remembers the primaries& candidates will move to the center come the general election.
This is the standard accepted wisdom of politics. I caught someone else saying it on foxnews this afternoon. This is 1990's/2000 thinking. It's thinking like this that helped Hillary lose. It's outdated thinking and doesn't account for social media nor the internet.
The truth is that nothing is forgotten now. One of the main reasons Trump won & continues to keep his supporters is he hasn't changed. He is saying the same things today that he said 2 yrs ago as he first took office, 3 yrs ago in the general election, & 4 yrs ago in the primary.

I'm not going to do a live tweet if the rally. At least I'm not planning on it. However, who knows what the night will bring. At the very least, I'll note anything interesting about the rally in this thread. The VP speech is good. President Trump is up next..
I wish the rsbn feed was better. I guess the arena has bad Wi-Fi. Switched to fox news stream but the volume sucks. Not capturing the crowd as much as rsbn does. Feels like less energy but it's the same .
Pence had a good joke.. he said he was worried the Dems were going so far left that the stage was going to flip over....
