Recently I was reviewing a blog post from the guy who's driven 40k leads/mo for I Will Teach You To Be Rich.

I've hit the 10k/mo level through blog content traffic.

But 40k/mo is a whole nother' level.

So I was intrigued how he did it.

There were a few key takeaways I got:

1- He couldn't make paid Facebook leads be profitable consistently, so he scrapped that lead gen source early.

He said to not assume your paid leads will convert or have the same lifetime value as your organic leads.

Split them up & track your paid leads all the way to revenue.

2- Instead of growing traffic, he focused exclusively on increasing conversion rates.

In other words, all the leads came from optimizing the traffic the site already had.

Three pages drove the bulk of the lead growth:

1. Homepage.
2. Double confirmation page.
3. Sitewide exit intent pop-up.

3- His biggest regret was not building a traffic engine.

All the traffic gained previously was either a result of luck & having a really engaged audience.

If he was to do it over again, he'd build a program that can grow traffic year in and year out.

Then focus on CRO.
