Gorka — who previously served as a policy adviser at DHS — reportedly advised the department to cut funding for the Countering Violent Extremism program, including grants for a group combating neo-Nazism and for a Muslim-American group working on violence prevention.
Gorka has shared anti-Muslim and conspiracy-driven stances on far-right websites, and she and her husband, former White House aide Sebastian Gorka, have ties to anti-immigrant groups. We need to know the extent of outside influences on DHS policy.
