If the Taliban ever sign a peace deal I will change my profile photo to celebrate. Talibstan was the only place that banned photos unless you got caught sneaking in and had to get a press card. Even though I was a tourist. Great journo careers have been started with much less. 
The talibs with their pieces of electric cable would whip everyone into prayer. When they saw me they would tug on my short beard and I would tell them to fuck off. Homey don't do three fingers. We would sit on the wall outside the Ariana in the sun and ogle the gals ankles.
I would sit on the front lines and get shelled over looking Bagram. They would sit and flip their prayer beads saying "Allah would protect us". No, I said cheap Iranian shells will protect us. They invited me to fight jihad and one guy gave me flowers..after he defused a landmine
In any case, I spent some quality time with the talibs, I even bunked with two of the Beach Talibs before their Gitmo holiday. I can tell you the best thing that could happen is for them to be put back in power. Cuz they would get tossed out in about 90 days.
