Jeffrey Epstein, accused of child sex trafficking, is dead of an apparent suicide in a Manhattan jail cell. This #SundayMorning we're asking what happens next in the investigation against Epstein.

Will his victims receive justice?

(2) Epstein's death complicates the investigation, but it definitely doesn't end it for several reasons.

First and foremost, the Manhattan US Attorney's office has vowed to continue the investigation into the conduct alleged in the indictment including any conspiracy charges.
(3) Secondly, as @KlasfeldReports noted yesterday, additional evidence may be obtained & if it implicates others, those crimes could generate separate investigations.

This includes the case against socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's partner & madam.

(4) In fact, the document release that many speculate caused Epstein to kill himself came from the case against Ghislaine Maxwell.

It detailed allegations of sexual slavery & encounters with Bill Richardson, Prince Andrew & George Mitchell.

(5) There is also a pending defamation case against Alan Dershowitz, who Virginia Roberts Giuffre says Epstein trafficked her to, that may uncover additional evidence.

(6) While they won't get to face Epstein in court, victims intend to sue his estate.

(7) Because of his death, there are some things we may never know about Epstein, including the mystery of his fortune and how he gained it.

Evidence that he was running some sort of blackmail operation seems to be significant.

(8) What continues is the investigation into the coverup conspiracy, allegations against those who participated in abusing & assaulting these girls, and continued support for victims to step into the light.

Epstein is dead. But his crimes live on.
And the reckoning will come.

Only 9% of his campaign funds come from Kentucky.

(3) This figure tells you just how deep the rot is. Between 1998-2017, the gun control lobby, headed by the NRA, spent $135 million, mostly to bolster campaigns of GOP candidates.

In contrast during that same period, gun advocacy groups spent $19 million.

This #SundayMorning we're probing a Senate Intelligence report issued the day after Mueller's testimony that confirms Russia scanned systems in 50 states, accessed them in 21 & compromised those systems in at least 2 states.

It's likely one of those states is Florida.

(2) This isn't really news. Earlier this year the FBI briefed Florida officials about the extent of the breach but they've been required not to reveal details to the public.

If Florida is State 2 in the report, it's likely 2-4 counties were compromised.
