@honema @ErynnBrook Feminism is a reaction to patriarchy and the systematic marginalization of women in society.

Men are the enforcers of this structure and overwhelming benefit from it.

It is not asking men to be better for the sake of women, it is asking men to stop enforcing patriarchy
@honema @ErynnBrook There is no equivalent structure of women marginalizing men, so the idea the women must better themselves for the sake of men is a) moot, b) further enforcing the existing patriarchal structure
@honema @ErynnBrook It's akin to wondering out loud what the Civil Rights movement was doing to better the lives of white people and expecting that to be taken as valid criticism of the Civil Rights movement.
@honema @ErynnBrook Lastly, it ignores the fact that society already places disproportionate burden on women to be a certain way for the sake of men - that is the exact thing feminism is fighting. It's absurd to wonder why a movement is not doing the thing it's fighting to stop doing.
