Labor under capitalism IS NOT CONSENSUAL; it is coerced through the systemic threat of homelessness and hunger.

Yes, people must labor to survive and thrive in nature. But capitalism makes it so we must labor for an "owner," to create profit for them (surplus/unpaid labor)...
in return for a wage, instead of laboring for ourselves and our communities. This is an inherently exploitative process. Since we have no leverage (by design, through underemployment & unemployed - Marx's "reserve army of labor"), we must accept whatever wage we can get.
And capitalists constantly seek to drive down wages and/or automate labor, leaving us in a perpetual state of precariousness.

The only escape from within the system is to become the exploiter (buy rental property, start a business, invest in Wall St.).
But we don't want to become the exploiter, we want to end the exploitation. We want to end a system that demands people be exploited en masse for the benefit of owners, rather than communities.
Thus, the only answer is to end this "predatory phase of human development" known as capitalism. To put the people in control. To have workers and communities owning the means of production. To create production and technology that is geared toward meeting human needs and..
building symbiosis with the natural world. To view automation as a development that liberates people from the drudgery of capitalist (exploitative) labor so we can explore creative and productive lives within our communities.
To replace fixed systems of dominance and "competition" (where the victor is predetermined) with cooperation and sustainability.

"All power to the people" isn't just a slogan. It's a vision.
