This is apparently a photo Trump got during a presidential intelligence briefing (and almost certainly TS), from which Iran can draw valuable inferences about our aerial surveillance capabilities. Heck of a job, Donnie.
Once again, Trump’s compulsion to brag about the amazing intelligence he’s privy to because he’s so very important overrides even the most basic security considerations. Betting there are lots of migraines at NRO/NGA/CIA this afternoon.
Getting a whole lot of derp in response to this. Maybe the photo doesn’t tell YOU anything; I promise it’s more informative to experts. To pick a couple obvious points: The time & position of the image capture. Our understanding (or misunderstanding) of their facilities.
Maybe the photo doesn’t give Iran any information they didn’t already have, but TwitterRando327 doesn’t know that, and absent a declassification review, I doubt Trump does either.
Already seeing folks with relevant background suggesting they’re reasonably confident this is an aerial vehicle rather than a satellite image, and have the time it was taken down to a fairly narrow window. But hey, no big deal, because you’ve seen photos sort of like this before.
I am HOPING this means he actually ran this by the IC before just tweeting it out, but his track record does not inspire confidence.
