Thread.

Let me explain the problems of Hindi imposition using the current bilingual policy of India.

#StopHindilmposition
Article 343 of Constitution of Indian Union says Hindi shall be the official language.

The problem lies here and it gets worse with Articles 344-351 where it specifically says Hindi should be promoted even in non-Hindi states.

Using these articles 343-351, a non-Hindi speaker should either learn English or Hindi to avail any service of Govt of India.

Right from accessing information from any of the Union govt websites, banks, post offices, it is only in English or Hindi.

A Hindi speaker can get any information in his/her lang i.e, Hindi whereas a Kannada/Tamil/Bengali speaker should rely on English or Hindi, both are foreign langs.

Do you see the upper hand given for Hindi speakers & a low-blow to non-Hindi speakers?

#StopHindilmposition
A Hindi speaker can write union govt exams in his/her lang i.e., Hindi whereas a Kannada/Tamil/Bengali speaker should write in either English or Hindi.

Where is the equality here? Do you see the undue advantage that Hindi speakers have in this case?

#StopHindilmposition
Hindi speakers can avail any GoI service in every nook and corner of this country whereas a non-Hindi speaker has to rely on English or Hindi.

How is this good for non-Hindi speakers? We have to struggle in every section.

#StopHindilmposition
We pay our taxes and we don't get a choice to write exams, avail any service in our language but another Lang will be imposed on us.

This doesn't end here. It gets downhill from here.

And, I'm just getting warmed up.

In all the Union Govt offices, there will be cash prizes, job promotions for increased usage of Hindi.

This Hindi imposition madness stays throughout the year but gets worse during the month of September when they start selling Pakodas too. No kidding!

#StopHindilmposition
Now give me one reason why should one promote Hindi in the remote corner of Karnataka? Languages of Karnataka are Kannada, Tulu, Konkani, Beary, Kodava takk.

Instead of promoting these langs, they stress on promotion of Hindi. Who's benefited?

#StopHindilmposition
This is beyond people learning Hindi or not. You learn it or not, it's your choice.

But when it comes to Govt of India, it should take care of all Lang speakers of this country instead of homogenizing the entire country in the name of unity.

#StopHindilmposition
Now that I've tried my best to explain the problems of Hindi imposition, let's look at the solution.

Govt of India should pass a bill to amend articles 343-351 to make all the 22 langs of the 8th schedule as official langs of Indian Union.

11/n

#StopHindilmposition
By amending the said articles, all the langs will get equal status and by definition all the Union govt services, exams should be available in all the languages.

We are asking make our langs official to along with Hindi. Too much to ask for?

#StopHindilmposition
Let Hindi flourish In Hindi heartland and likewise for our langs. This way it'll pave way for more Indians to participate in our vibrant system.

We can always use "artificial intelligence" & "machine learning" technologies to overcome the difficulties

13/n

#StopHindilmposition
Once again, I'm repeating this This fight is not against *Hindi* or *Hindi speakers*.

This fight is against systematic, organised imposition of Hindi over non-Hindi speakers by Govt of India.

Thank you for reading.
