unpopular opinion: the culture of "discernment" that permeates Catholic young adult circles is absolutely killing all forms of vocations
God isn't going to walk by holding a giant sign that says "ASK HER OUT" or "JOIN THE PRIESTHOOD." Get off your ass and try it out and if it doesn't work, oh well.
Seminary/convents aren't the army, you can leave. A date lasts like, four hours tops. You'll be okay, and at least you'll know.

Yeah sure it may seem as though you have forever, and as a guy I guess you do, but I was literally told by a priest that my ovaries were expiring and I needed to get a move on if I wanted a family, so....your turn, I guess.
and if it sounds like I'm blaming men, I sure am because the vaaaast majority of my Catholic girlfriends were raised in environments to *specifically not* be the one to make the first move and to wait for the guy, and that's not going to work if men are "discerning" forever.
