A source familiar with the effort confirms a letter is circulating among conservative leaders in support of Mick Mulvaney.

The letter says those who’ve signed believe he "has been the most successful Chief of Staff in this administration."
Signatories to date include Family Research Council chief Tony Perkins, Jenny Beth Martin of Tea Party Patriots, activist Ginni Thomas, former Ohio gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell and Club for Growth president David McIntosh.
The letter says those who’ve signed it are “proud to support the role" Mulvaney continues to play, and it calls on the president to make him permanent in the chief of staff position.

Trump's lawyers' argument -- that he can't be pursued by prosecutors now because the Constitution provides for impeachment -- is curious.

Spiro Agnew was prosecuted while he was VP, for bribery and tax evasion committed before he took office.

Was that case unconstitutional... ?
Walter Dellinger wrote about this last December ...

In 1973, the Justice Department simultaneously argued that Agnew *could* be prosecuted, but Nixon couldn't ... well, because ... actually being president is different than being vice president.

(Agnew did argue he *was* immune, but he resigned and pleaded guilty anyway.)

"As part of the call, Secretary Esper strongly encouraged Turkey to discontinue actions in northeastern Syria in order to increase the possibility that the United States, Turkey and our partners could find a common way to deescalate the situation before it becomes irreparable."

It’s a HUGE chess game. Each piece has it’s part. For example, it LOOKS as if Trump is suddenly interested in slamming #Mexico with tariffs instead of building a wall. Think what these tariff will do to Mexico. $25.00 per car. Cars sold around the world. And one cannot exactly

3/ This is the same guy who finished off the guys OBAMA was supporting: #ISIS I don’t doubt he will get it all done. But keep in mind there is a lot of distraction going on. Just know the main guy never loses sight of the ball.
