Russia is reinforcing its coastal artillery brigades with 2S7 Pion 203mm heavy artillery pieces and Zoopark counter-battery radars. The first unit to receive them will be the Baltic Fleet's 244th Guards Artillery Brigade based in Kaliningrad.

Russia's Ground Forces did away with their heavy artillery brigades and their 2S7 Pion and 2S4 Tyulpan mortars during the Serdyukov reforms, but they began to reconstitute them in 2017. 2S7 will augment the coastal forces' Bastion and Bal anti-ship missiles and Uragan MLRS. 2/
Of course, this also increases the # and capability of long-range artillery systems in Kaliningrad. The Baltic Fleet already has the 152nd Missile Brigade now equipped with Iskander-M, and Russia is replacing its existing MLRS with newer and longer-range Tornado-S/G systems.

The Tsentr 2019 strategic training exercise kicked off today with the opening ceremony held at the Donguz Taining Area in Orenburg.
Servicemen from China, India, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan are taking part in the exercise, which will take place at the Totsky, Donguz, Adanak, Chebarkulsky, Yurginsky, Aleysky, Ashuluk, and Safakulevo Training Areas. 2/
