House Intelligence Committee has released the two letters it received from the Intelligence Community Inspector General.

Sept. 9 (alerting the committee to the existence of the complaint): intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/…
IC Inspector General told @RepAdamSchiff that:

The "subject matter involved in the complainant’s disclosure not only falls within the DNI’s jurisdiction, but relates to one of the most significant and important of the DNI’s responsibilities to the American people.”
Schiff also released a letter he sent to acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire yesterday, confirming his testimony in an open hearing next week: intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/…
The IG sent a letter on Sept. 17 to the DOJ, explaining why he believed the subject matter of the whistleblower's complaint falls within the DNI's jurisdiction "and relates to one of the most significant and important of the DNI's responsibilities to the American people."
That letter, from the IG to DOJ, can't be released or shared w/ Congress because it involves the facts of the case.
The IG explains that, as @mcculloughirvin wrote at @just_security earlier this week, the acting DNI's actions are hurting his ability to do his job.

The IG notes that DOJ's legal opinion on this matter could affect whistleblowers' rights and protections across government and within the government contracting industry.
