THREAD: We’re suing the government—again.

This time, we’re representing 5 asylum-seeking mothers and their children torn apart under the Trump administration’s #FamilySeparation policy. (1/8)

We’re seeking compensation for the families for the long-lasting trauma intentionally inflicted on these mothers and children by the Trump administration.

The children grapple every day with nightmares, anxiety, fear, and emotional outbursts.

Here are their stories. (2/8)
An eight-year-old girl is still unable to sleep unless her mother holds her because of the Trump administration’s family separation policy. (3/8)
An eight-year-old boy blames his mother for allowing immigration officials to separate them and refuses to go to school for fear that he will be separated from his mother again. (4/8)
A seven-year-old boy separated from his mother for more than two months refuses to talk about his time in a New York shelter and is reluctant to eat. (5/8)
A fourteen-year-old boy is unable to speak much with his mother about their separation or his time in detention and experiences outbursts of inexplicable anger. (6/8)
A six-year-old girl still has nightmares about her experience and often screams out to her mother in the night looking for protection from the individuals who might separate them again. (7/8)
The government must be held responsible for intentionally inflicting emotional pain and suffering on asylum-seeking families.

With your support, we can continue our fight against #FamilySeparation. (8/8)
