So of course we're already party to a trade agreement with Japan, which the Japanese have refused to replicate in the case of a no-deal Brexit, either to encourage us to make a deal with the EU, or because they want more concessions from us. None of this mentioned...
There's a new call for evidence on what we'd want from a Japan trade agreement, as there was for US, Australia, NZ last year. Most responses saying they wanted to prioritise the EU relationship, but there we go...
Biggest problem, as I say here, is that we've now prioritised trade agreements with the US, New Zealand, Australia and Japan. Plus presumably the EU. Which really isn't deliverable in quick time, even if you knew what you wanted, which we don't.... ft.com/content/b6a047…
