@maej43 We’ll never get “Electoral Reform” necessary to ensure inclusion, engagement, participation, representation & democracy if the Party in power starts with the mindset of will changes to what is current make them win?

@maej43 My desire for Electoral Reform may be fantasy, but dreams do come true. In addition to creating an Electoral system that ensures the opportunity to both vote directly for the local Representation AND for the Leader/Lead Representative (similar to Municipal Elections).

@maej43 @Carolyn_Bennett @theJagmeetSingh I’m tired of Leaders being in place by default and partisanship because of lack of voting opportunities and inaccessibility. The Electorate should get a say in every way.

Now the rest is included in my Electoral Reform plan when I ran for Mayor of Toronto.

Have a media blackout during Elections— this removes biased reporting & propaganda while forces Candidates & Communities to engage.

Libraries would be permitted to sell licensing fees to Broadcasters to air entire debates on their networks…

Fact: Women make up over 51% of Canada’s population but remain underrepresented in government. Why?

Facts: Women live longer than men so we have to ensure discriminatory policies longer.

@maej43 @Carolyn_Bennett @theJagmeetSingh Essentially, Parties are a coalition of people focused on their Party’s agenda whereas it would be awesome to witness individuals coming together with their own ideas to act collectively in government, centring the Public, to ensure that we all have the ability to live & thrive.

@maej43 @Carolyn_Bennett @theJagmeetSingh This (above) forces people (potential Candidates & the Public) to have to think, be bold, have ideas that contribute to the wellness of society— not just join a Party to run as a Candidate for the numbers (AND a pension) but no substance part of current politics.
