Retweeting this important information.

It’s oil and the trillions of wealth it represents that motivates the corrupt to use smear campaigns & political character assassination.
Attaching this new thread because it is directly relevant.

We need to change the narrative.
It’s never been acceptable to dress in black face. Trying to rationalize it because some did and we don’t want to tarnish their progressive reputation is a fool’s errand.

It’s not about race. It’s about classism and the privileges denied to POC, women and LGBTQ.
Trudeau isn’t a hypocrite, he is a product of a system that promotes that the privileges remain with white wealthy men. The fact he became a teacher speaks volumes. He’s always questioned inherent privileges. Or he would have obtained a more lucrative career.
He could have chosen any profession and easily been provided the opportunity. His father was a globally known wealthy former PM of Canada.

But he chose to become a teacher. To mold young minds and open their eyes to the diversity of the world.

Comfortable, not extravagant.
We can use this attempt to smear Trudeau to exemplify his true character and merit. He made mistakes. He admits them. The mistakes are typical and common in his social class. He’s risen above those mistakes and spent a lifetime trying to even the playing field.
While Scheer, many CPC candidates, Trump, the US Republican Party, Harper, IDU, Kenney, Ford and other wealthy white men have spent a lifetime trying to maintain their exclusive privilege.

There is the difference between Trudeau and his accusers. Mistake made and corrected.
For those trying to make this about race, like Singh and May, their ability to be leaders of federal political parties has been made possible by the work of men like Trudeau. Kind of sad they betray a fellow progressive to pander for votes. A sign of character & lack of merit.
Turn this blatant attempt back on the accusers.

Do we want false platitudes of equality from leaders who seek to close the windows of opportunity or real action that changes peoples lives and opportunities for themselves and their children?
I believe the Canadian electorate is smart enough to figure that one out.
