@Ofstednews #OfstedFrameworkTip – LWs – Undertaken v early with SLT & Leads Curriculum intent probed during LWs in conversations & clear expectation was to see implementation & impact in lessons visited

@Ofstednews #OfstedFrameworkTip – Observation “Feedback” – Not offered individually Collective feedback within Faculty areas given to all staff visited “Feedback” developed into curriculum discussion and triangulation of Intent, Implementation, Impact with staff teams

@Ofstednews #OfstedFrameworkTip – CEIAG – All staff to be able to identify & exemplify how CEIAG promoted within the curriculum. They will go looking and triangulate with students

@Ofstednews #OfstedFrameworkTip – Deep Dives – Students selected & asked present books & engage in learning conversations. Then used to triangulate with leads on curriculum, standards & expectations

@Ofstednews #OfstedFrameworkTip – SEND – Significant focus in EVERY aspect of inspection. All to staff to be able to identify & implement appropriate strategies. Leaders to know data, representation, trends

@Ofstednews #OfstedFrameworkTip – Be On The Same Page – Real emphasis on triangulation between leaders, teachers & students. Student focus groups selected from each year. Robust & extensive conversations within these (students + inspector only) have significant weighting

@Ofstednews #OfstedFrameworkTip – NQTs – all had 1:1 meetings to probe induction, CPA, safeguarding, wellbeing, curriculum

In summary - brutal few days but inspection was comprehensive, conversations & evidence trail robust & - although tbc - areas improvement fair. My only plea to @Ofstednews is do away with the judgements - mindset shift required to focus on the narrative not the number!
