TRAFFIC LIGHTS for September 25, 2019

RED LIGHT to a crime against charity which has led to the trending of the hashtag #StandWithCarson. 25-year-old @CycloneFB fan @CarsonKing2 had made a deal with @AnheuserBusch to donate proceeds from cans and bottles of Busch Light to an Iowa children's hospital.
Unfortunately, these plans were ruined when the @DMRegister's @AaronPCalvin smeared him by digging up a series of racist tweets that Mr. King made when he was a teenager (and for which Mr. King has apologized). This forced the brewery to sever ties with the innocent young man.
Of course, the fact that Mr. Calvin has had his own share of offensive tweets to post only adds to the problem and has led to boycotts of both firms. This type of nasty behavior is unworthy of a newspaper which has been an institution in Des Moines, and in Iowa, for 170 years.
The paper, and @AnheuserBusch, owe @CarsonKing2 and the state's children a full apology for its incident. The paper, we should note, is investigating the reporter's aforementioned tweets, which I hope lead to a firing, or, at least, a no-pay suspension.
GREEN LIGHT, and a fond farewell from the #LoudHouse fandom, to @WickedCoolToys, a Hong Kong-based toy manufacturer which has U.S. offices in Culver City and Philadelphia. The company announced last night that it would cease making toys of that hit @Nickelodeon cartoon series.
Although the company, which is dearly missed, completely skipped two sisters in its list of offerings of toys related to the series, we should thank this company for the roster of figurines and plush toys that it did make in relation to this show; those are shown below this text.
RED LIGHT to @NateSilver538. He has turned his back toward many progressives since the sale of his @FiveThirtyEight to @ABC a few years ago, but a three-tweet thread he did one Saturday afternoon was particularly unnerving for those in that movement to read.
He took the time in it to report about how the various 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls were doing among non-whites concluding that since he thinks a lot of non-whites have left @BernieSanders, "the residue of what's left is more diverse."
No, you didn't read it wrong. Nate referred to all the Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanics and other non-whites who felt the Bern as "residue." This is the very definition of a completely, unequivocally, disturbingly, frighteningly, irredeemably, racist tweet.
Yesterday, I went to an exhibit on racism held at the @AZStateMuseum in Tucson. Maybe @NateSilver538 should go there too, so that he can learn how NOT to tweet about non-whites who vote for #M4A, free college, and all the other things progressives stand for.
[The Traffic Lights posts are not intended to incite harassment or bullying upon people who are the subject of them. If you feel offended by a portion of these posts, I will gladly remove the offending portion.]
