NEW: House Intel members plan to return to Washington next week despite the scheduled recess, as they see urgency in the Ukraine investigation.

Sources say a potential hearing is on tap for FRIDAY & subpoenas are expected.

NEW: White House Counsel Pat Cipollone has sent an 8-page letter to Pelosi/Schiff/Engel/Cummings on their impeachment inquiry.

“As you know, you have designed and implemented your inquiry in a maimer that violates fundamental fairness and constitutionally mandated due process.”
This reads more like a political document than a legal document. Here’s Cipollone slamming Schiff over his staff’s prior contact with the whistleblower.
Cipollone says Trump “cannot allow your constitutionally illegitimate proceedings to distract him and those in the Executive Branch from their work on behalf of the American people.”
