1/ I read that juicy quote in @Eric_Weiner's book "The Geography of Genius". He was speculating that part of Fred Terman's (godfather of Silicon Valley) motivation was the chip on his shoulder from the East Coast's persistent derision of the West Coast in general
2/ "The Establishment" turned out to be wrong, of course, but it took a long time for Stanford to become the @Stanford we know today. But the "chip on the shoulder" is a powerful motivator.

1/ Have you ever wondered teams building self-driving vehicles design and test their code? Let's say you make a change to the way your car behaves around, say, school kids at intersections. After the fix, do you then drive around, hoping to encounter kids?
2/ Or let's say you're working on a lane-change algorithm. How can you evaluate whether the algorithm is safe given all the (crazy) ways drivers in the passing lane might behave?

Kristian is 7’ tall. He favors bright plaids with tee shirts and jeans. (This is perfectly acceptable casual wear.)
Note shoulder seams (at top of arm): a little low on his arm, but that’s movement fabric.
Again, it’s the geometry of fabric: an arc is longer than a line.

Suit jacket, intentionally oversized because this is a casual look, with jeans & Converse. That jacket will button.
If this was formal? Might wanna pad the shoulders a bit, but it’s not. No cuffs, cuz tee.

#Khashoggi Case Thread: I am going to ‘pin’ this post to use it as an ‘Info Thread’ on the #Khashoggi Case. I am in #Turkey. I’ve been following the case closely and with access to sources & experts here. This is a very ‘sensitive’ criminal case due to ‘Diplomatic Booby Traps’!!!
The Evidence Obtained Outside Cameras will not show any evidence of ‘tempering’ but other than license plates of dozens of diplomatic cars (Many with tinted windows-large trunks) with related time stamp, drivers Info, model/year: Nothing.
#Turkish Intel-Investigative Bodies also have the list of all Diplomatic & Private Saudi & “other significant’ Planes in #Turkey for the period of ‘interest.’ Many of the Target airports have their own security cameras & related evidence.
