Spot on. Stupid and dangerous to suggest MPs talking with foreign governments is any kind of problem. Just another example of general ignorance of how international talks work, which has hampered us since 2016. And which Government has encouraged for immediate reasons.
Always think the pushback I get from people thinking UK MPs talking to foreign governments shouldn't be allowed is such a symbol of the naivety in our political debate, given it is universal *and encouraged by all governments*. Some examples...
Have seen MPs pushing their own interests with other side negotiators in trade talks, MPs asking other Government to undermine their own side, other country MPs disagreeing with their own government - and that's just what happens. Silly to pretend otherwise.
