JFC people--don't use #disability as your political metaphor when for some of us it's not just real life, but a state of being relentlessly discriminated against by folks who otherwise perceive themselves as deeply "left" and "woke."
Come back when you understand context & what sub-minimum wage, segregated work space & the fact that #M4A (albeit a start) still ignores #disabled people. And when aforementioned "wokeness" comprehends enough to put freaking captions on your candidates' videos. ALL of them.
Thank you for coming to a TED talk that doesn't provide inspiration porn, just lived reality. I am available for questions after the lecture and to write a blazing piece about why none of you have #disabled staff, consultants or writers and think that is okay.

Perhaps I wrote too many papers on the Civil War to find the jokes amusing, but we have 500M guns in this country & the Civil War had Americans killing each other even within families, women--including women held as slaves-- being raped, and a sundered nation for decades.
620k people died in the Civil War and nearly 2M were injured. There were only 30M people in the US when the Civil War began--21M in the North, 9M in the South. The destruction was phenomenal. These are the thoughts I have when Trump tweets blithely about Civil War.
Think about who the immediate victims would be if this white nationalist president radicalized his base. Women. POC. Immigrants. Muslims & Jews. LGBTQ. Disabled.
The excuses for wholesale slaughter would be myriad. We know Trump admires brutal dictators. He wants to be one.

This is just shocking, really, even by Trump standards. One presumes since he got away with having Russia help him in 2016, he thought he could do the same thing with Ukraine in 2020.
Giuliani was definitely working for Trump as a foreign agent--just as Mike Flynn was in 2016.

The Wife just said to me about Trump's tweet calling women, Jewish & WOC Democrats "savages"-- "He constantly wants to reinforce that some of us do not 'belong.' He Othertizes us purposefully, to strike a chord with his white base. It is meant to de-credentialize his opposition."
"Look at who he cited," The Wife said. "Pelosi, Nadler--a Jew, AOC--a favorite flashpoint for the right because she's a beautiful young WOC with a Latinx name who they tell themselves doesn't deserve to be in Congress. His tweet should shock everyone, but we are so past shock."
The Wife said, "Trump reignited 'the Squad' in his tweet just like he still brings up Hillary. He has certain talking points he can't let go of. He doesn't believe women & POC should be in positions of authority. Like his saying Pelosi wasn't Speaker anymore. What an awful man."

Transsexuality started as a study of a different type of person from the usual cross-dressers and transvestites[1]
from what were commonly seen by therapists and sexologists. These were people who sought physical changes.

We are already judged every day for not meeting the inaccurate prejudiced narrow views of #Disability

The people who scream at blind people for using phones, wheelchair users for moving their legs & people with mental health conditions for laughing, think they are doing some service to the real “deserving disabled”.

This only harms & isolates disabled people.
Portrayals of disability are so negative that we are automatically fakers for leaving the house, having a job, a sex life, enjoying sports, using technology, buying a luxury item, or simply being happy.

This is Hebron in the West Bank.
Hebron is the home of one of Islam's holy sites, the Ibrahimi Mosque.
It also happens to be a Jewish holy site named after Abraham as well.
