Day 2. DNA. Deoxyribonucleic acid carries the genetic information of all organisms. My favorite experiments in history are the Hershey-Chase experiment that demonstrated that DNA carried the genetic material of phage T2 and Photo 51: X-ray diffraction image by Rosalind Franklin

#History/#Art thread – From my recent trip to Madurai/Tirunelveli. On Jain sites (some with a rich history dating back to at least the 3rd cent. BCE), early Pandyan rock-cut cave temples (7th-8th cent. CE) & the amazing Vettuvan koil.

Before I start on the places, the history around all this is fascinating & splits opinion. Is it apt to call the script Tamili/Tamil Brahmi? Did it develop independently in the Tamil country/come with the Jain monks from the north? Were 8,000 Jains actually impaled in Madurai?>

Simple way to say, human #History is millions of years old, and measured in the manner of Chaturyuga (4 main yugas/cycles). In due time, the Races of mankind (and/or, genetic make-up) gets diluted, lost, assembled/reassembled, out-mixing (w/other species), unregulated mixing,
etc. & via such phenomena in successive ages. Truly unfathomable to understand, Sat Yuga was of dominant Brahmanas/Rishis (a single homogeneous racial purity/ 12 strand+ DNA), & divisions arose in Treta- 6 main races & various sub-races, interbreeding w/other species & so forth.
