Reconciliation on Brexit will come when sufficient numbers of people recognise there is no 'good' solution to the UK/EU relationship.
History and geopolitics point to the UK being technically in or technically out.

Either way, it'll be a 'balance of shitness'. Harold Macmillan's "grim choice" lives on, 60 years after he faced it.
The UK & EU themselves may need their own equivalent of the Good Friday Agreement.
But first, after the stasis, one side needs to 'win'. Leavers might wonder why they need to win anything 'because 17.4m in 2016'. Yes, but Leave has been snatching defeat from victory ever since. No plan, no clue. No language of trade-offs. "What we ask for, we get" [since when?]
But a 'win' for one side will come. And what a Pyrrhic victory it will be. There will be no 'going out into the world, leaving the EU behind'. And no 'putting Brexit behind us & just carrying on as before'....
Or maybe the latter might prevail....after a fashion.

Maybe we *are* just the awkward member. Maybe that doesn't signal we should leave. And maybe it also doesn't signal we should "stop farting about & go all in".

It's shit.

But maybe that's where the balance of shitness lies
Anyone awaiting sunlit uplands will have a very long wait. The polar opposites will need to mutually agree to shut down.

.......But not today.
