Do you all know the legend behind #AyudhaPooja ?

Let me narrate. The root is from Mahabharath. Pandavas complete 14 years of agnayatha vasa (exile). On completion the pandavas are in Viraat Rajas kingdom.

Seeing the prosperity in Kiraat rajas kingdom kuravas some how sense that Pandavas must be in Viraat Rajas kingdom. So to expose Pandavas , they draw Viraat Raja for a war. Viraat Raja leaves for war leaving behind his son Uttrakumar to take care of his kingdom in his absence.

Uttrakumar keeps boasting about his valour to the women in his palace. That's when the news of kurava army marching towards Viraat nagar comes. Now all the women ask coward uttrakumar to launch an attack on the kurava army. This guy shivers and is unable to even stand out of fear

This is when Arjuna in disguise as Brihannala ( as eunuch ) steps in and lifts uttrakumar with both his hands and puts him in the chariot, and rides to a near by crematorium. Brihannala reassures that he can single handedly take on the kurava army. Viraat kumar is shell shocked

On reaching the burial ground , Brihannala asks uttrakumar to climb the vanni tree and asks him to bring down the dead body on top of the tree. Uttrakumar again shivers on seeing the dead body. Some how with great difficulty persuades him to bring down the dead body from the tree

13 years of exile and one year of Agnayatha vasa. *

What uttrakumar brought down was not a dead body but weapons of Arjuna. Uttrakumar on knowing that Brihannala is none other than Arjuna apologises to him and does sastanga namaskar to Arjuna

Arjuna first does pooja to his weapons, which includes Gandiba. This day is #AyudhaPooja

Arjuna tweeks his Gandiba and that sound instills so much fear in the hearts of kuravas like 100 nukes going off simultaneously.

Next day Arjuna single handedly decimates the kurava army and that day is celebrated as #Vijayadasami.

That's the reason people circumbulate the vanni tree on Vijayadasami day. #AyudhaPooja
