On a serious note, the problem with threatening security cooperation if you don't get a Brexit deal is that, as May found, it's simultaneously implausible and counter-productive. No one thinks you'll really do it, but when you say it, they are less inclined to help you.
Also, it's all very well complaining about the way parliament, the EU, the Irish have behaved, but they've all behaved in exactly the way they announced, beforehand, that they would behave.
The only surprising thing any of the other actors in this piece have done since Johnson took office is refuse to vote for an election.
I also don't recall anyone in the EU offering the theory, advanced in this piece, that if May were replaced as PM, the UK would seek a softer Brexit. Anyone see that at the time?
