Interesting timing, indeed. There were also some 'non-compliant' FISA Queries on 12/1/17, the day Flynn plead guilty. Then another wave from 12/7/17-12/11/17 after Judge Contreras was removed.

The March queries look directed at metadata on FBI personnel & contractors. Leak hunt?
It is odd, they say OGC & NSD both advised they didn't think that query should be run. Then the FBI division ran the query anyway, but they say they never looked at the results of the query.
I haven't found the case that was a footnote in an earlier report. The one where an FBI supervisor was allegedly running FISA Queries on his employees for 'case management' purposes to see how busy his or her people were. There is a query noted aimed at looking at FBI documents.
