I see my mate, Julia Hartley-Brewer is popping up on my timeline spouting nonsense about no deal lowering food prices. Without @-ing her in, as frankly she doesn't deserve the attention, here is a brief summary of why she is wrong 1/
This is very basic, so there will be bits that I have missed out. Essentially, the current set up minimises the time taken at ports to process goods. Everyone adheres to the same standards and is in the same customs territory. Time=Money, so this reduces the end retail price 2/
No deal brexit removes the current framework and replaces it with nothing. Into that gap steps WTO terms - there are people who write with more authority on that, so I won't go into detail. They will though, put tariffs on goods in and out and increase the time spent at port 3/

Action plan before you leave. Also make clear any further delays are unacceptable. Action plans, strong regulations/policies must be instituted immediately. Petition is excellent example.
